The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Fighters Table

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a wide array of characters, and a gripping narrative showcasing divine entities, demons, and malevolent powers growing in power within Dol-Makjar.

Note: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season lie ahead.

The Soldiers Table Introduced

The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of characters who will separate from the primary party to embark on their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.

The Soldiers table includes Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).

Why Split the Party?

Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.

That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.

What Defines the Combat Party

As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.

Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem out of place, but the actions of episode 3 show why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.

Why They Must Go

To begin with, the team knows exactly where to proceed after a intense opening clash with the antagonists.

A former ally of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his selfish purposes, entering the secret base, striking Thimble, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.

The traitor then settled his debts and fled to a secure base in the remote area, beyond the city, with Cyd pursuing him.

Character Drivers

Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:

  • Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants retribution.
  • The adventurer knows the northern area and advises that it is a nasty environment.
  • The warrior and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to kill the fighter and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
  • However, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could help the group reach locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Furthermore, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his salvation and will now go with him wherever.

Pursued by Authorities

Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that control the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:

  • The agile adventurer and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
  • The strong figure and Wicander defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
  • The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.

This leaves them few options but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.

Future Episodes

From the recent installment’s follow-up content, we discover that the Soldiers table won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Questers and Strategists parties.

Audiences can expect learning which adventurers will be where in the season’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
